With our current funding, we have already been able to accomplish much this year. We have already exceeded our 2021 goal of graduating fifteen faith leader from our Civic Engagement Academy. Through our partner with Audubon South Carolina and the South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs, we were able to train nineteen faith leaders about the nation’s civic processes. These faith leaders will take what they have learned to their own communities of faith, in order to educate and mobilize their communities to take action. In addition to that, we have been able to offer the Congregational Energy Efficiency Challenge (CEEC) to three houses of worship in the historic Nicholtown Neighborhood of Greenville. This means over $15,000 devoted to reducing energy inefficiency and carbon emissions in our state, as well as relieving low-income churches of the burden of high energy bills.

With your help, these victories are just the beginning of what we can accomplish.

From July 19th to August 12th, South Carolina Interfaith Power and Light will be hosting a fundraising campaign. With your help, SCIPL will raise enough money to build capacity and expand our staff, and ultimately spread our reach to more communities of faith across the state. To get involved, please follow the link to our fundraising page.
