Many faith communities have long utilized public declarations of faith, which can solidify common values, a strong sense of community, and a shared commitment toward living morally. A moral commitment to caring for the Earth is something we should all share, but we have to make it known publicly if we want others to embody it. As people of goodwill in the Internet age, we all know many ways to reduce our environmental impact, how to seek more ways, and how to join others in advocating for change. Here on South Carolina Interfaith Power & Light’s website, we plan to start sharing helpful tips as we continue to ramp up our online presence. We are blessed with an abundance of information. Human ingenuity has extended life expectancy and allowed us to peer backward through time into the very beginning of the universe. But it has also brought us the interlinked existential threats of nuclear war and climate change. Despite great knowledge, it seems we are lacking in wisdom. Tweet
